The federal government of Punjab has announced a public holiday on May 28, 2024 (Tuesday) to mark the historic day “Youm-e-Takbeer”.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Youm-e-Takbeer (یوم تکبیر) reminded the nation of unity to make nation defense indomitable.
Youm-e-Takbeer is celebrated on May 28, in Pakistan to commemorate the Chagai-I and Chagai-II series of nuclear tests.

The nuclear tests made Pakistan the 7th nation to have nuclear weapons. It also made Pakistan the first nation to have nuclear power in the Muslim world.
Youm-e-Takbir will be passionately observed tomorrow (Tuesday) in remembrance of nuclear tests executed on May 28, 1998.
“On this day, we unite under the green and white flag to celebrate our nation’s unwavering resolve,” the prime minister added.
He vowed “We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure economic security and prosperity of our nation.”

The nuclear explosions were executed in self-defense to respond to the aggression of nuclear tests on India. As a result, Pakistan becomes the first nuclear power in the Muslim world and 7th in the whole work.
