Professional Statement by Prof. Dr. Iftikhar Khawaja
Professor Dr. Iftikhar Khawaja is a Consultant Neurologist and a former professor in Neurology at PIMS University and PIMS Hospital in Islamabad. He was also an examiner for doctors wishing to become specialists in Neurology (FCPS Neurology. ) Currently he is working as a Consultant Physician in the UK's National Health Service as a specialist in Stroke. Stroke or falij is the most serious neurological disorder which is sudden like a heart attack and can paralyze and cripple the patient for life. Professor Iftikhar Khawaja is very keen to teach and familiarize physicians and hospitals in Pakistan with the techniques of clot breaking (thrombolysis) that are routinely used for treatment of stroke in the Western countries. According to Dr. Khawaja this is the one miracle cure from which thousands of patients who would otherwise be paralyzed for life, can escape without developing paralysis and go on to have healthy and active lives. He is also an expert in headaches including Migraine, Epilepsy( mirgi) and Parkinsonism.
Prof Khawaja has written two books on Neurology and has his own YouTube series in Urdu about common neurological disorders to help patients understand their illness and how to cope with it. In order to access his you tube videos simply google his name. Prof
Good Khawaja sees patients through Marham platform and we are fortunate that his fees, which would otherwise be astronomical like in England where he works, are kept at a basic minimum Pakistani level especially to benefit the Pakistani patients through Marham.
Below is a list of Prof Khawaja’s YouTube videos in Urdu. His recommendation is to watch the relevant video before consultation so that you can understand and benefit from the knowledge about your illness..
